WINTER CREEK VEST
Cozy cables wrap around neck and shoulders and cascade down the front of this versatile vest. Knit in worsted weight, with an intuitive and relaxing cable pattern, slight A-line shaping for a casual fit, and minimal finishing, it will be a lovely addition to your fall and winter wardrobe. FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Bust - 33 (35½, 38, 39, 41½, 44)(45, 47½, 50, 51, 53½)". Intended to be worn with 0-2" of ease. Shown with 0" ease. Length at center back, from top of collar to hem - 27½ (28, 28, 28½, 28½, 28¾) (28¾, 29¾, 29¾, 30, 30)". YARN: 815 (855, 885, 925, 970, 1015)(1045, 1105, 1135, 1195, 1225) yards worsted weight wool. Recommended yarn: Backyard Fiberworks "Field" (100% superwash merino; 218yds/100g). 4 (4, 5, 5, 5, 5)(5, 6, 6, 6, 6) skeins. Sample shown in Plume. NEEDLES: U.S. size 7 (4.5mm) 32" (80cm) circular needle. Circular needle is used to accomodate the large number of stitches. Adjust needle size as needed to obtain correct gauge. OTHER: Removable stitch markers, waste yarn, cable needle, tapestry needle. GAUGE: 20 sts/28 rows = 4" in stockinette, blocked. SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate. Techniques include long tail cast on, short row shaping, m1increases, cables, and picking up stitches. CONSTRUCTION: Worked from the top down, beginning with the back collar. Stitches are then picked up from either side of the back collar for the front collars which are shaped with short rows. Increases are worked to shape the front armholes. Stitches are then picked up from the back of the collar, with short row shaping for the neck and increases worked for the back armholes.
