FAYETTE SHAWL
Mesh lace in a checkerboard pattern is paired with a simple eyelet border to create a light and lacy shawl, perfect for a breezy spring or summer day. FINISHED SIZE: 61" wide x 21" deep. YARN: 465 yds fingering weight wool or wool blend. Shown in Miss Babs "Avon" (85% Merino Wool, 15% Silk; 490 yds/100 g) - Oak Moss. NEEDLES: U.S. size 6 (4mm) 24" (60cm) circular needle. Adjust needle size as needed to obtain correct gauge. OTHER: Tapestry needle, stitch markers (optional). GAUGE: 24 sts/28 rows = 4" in stockinette, blocked. SKILL LEVEL: Advanced beginner. Techniques include increases, decreases, and yarnovers. CONSTRUCTION: Beginning with two stitches, the triangular shape is knit end to end, with increases worked to the midpoint and then decreases worked to the end.
