STONYBROOKE VEST
A layering piece perfect for transitioning between seasons - as winter warms or summer cools. FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Bust - 32 (36, 40, 44, 48)". Length - 20¾ (21½, 22, 23¼, 24½)". Intended to be worn with 0-2" ease. Fronts do not meet, but lie slightly open. YARN: 645 (725, 820, 950, 1135) yards DK weight wool. Sample shown in String Theory Merino DK (100% superwash merino wool) - Black Tulip. NEEDLES: U.S. size 5 (3.75mm) straight or circular needles. Adjust needle size as needed to obtain correct gauge. 32" (80cm) circular needle in same size for armhole and neckline I-cord. OTHER: Stitch markers, cable needle, stitch holders, tapestry needle, extra needle for 3-needle bind off. GAUGE: 22 sts/31 rows = 4" in stockinette blocked. Obtaining both stitch and row gauge is important for completing this project successfully. SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate. Techniques include reading charts, cabling, short rows, 3-needle bind off, I-cord edging, long-tail cast on, cable cast on, make 1 increases, and picking up stitches. CONSTRUCTION: Knit from the bottom up in pieces with slight waist-shaping and curved front hem, the vest is seamed at the sides and shoulders, and finished with I-cord edging.
